TOWARD INDIGENOUS SOVEREIGNTY

The 1971 Brown & Gold Yearbook image credits Peguis First Nation for traditional dances and Chief Walter Cochrane for calling participants to hold hands in unity. Also named are Chinese Shawl dancers, German Folk performers, and Afro-Caribbean artists. The ‘campo’ remains today an open place of cultural exchange.
